Introducing the Carnegie Hall FireChoir!

The Cheshire FireChoir has been working tirelessly to put on a top performance at the world's top concert hall, Carnegie Hall, so who are they?

The FireChoir is made up of four different sections. There are the Sopranos, the glass breakers of the group who hit the high notes. Then there are the Altos that form the female 'voice' of the choir. We have five Tenors, with two female and three male singers in the section who blend the sound, with, finally, the Bass section which makes up the low/deep male voices. We're particularly fortunate to have an extra deep voice in this section, owned by Station Manager Gareth Scott.

Musical Director for the FireChoir is the extremely talented Ruairi Edwards. We got to know Ruairi, from Lichfield, during the filming of Sing While You Work - he played keyboards throughout the filming - and invited him to be our MD. He has been with us ever since and is our lynchpin, mentor, guiding light and all round star! Ruairi will be singing with the Tenor section at Carnegie Hall.

And last, but by no means least, is our Pianist Wendy Dolby. Wendy, from Middlewich. Wendy is a professional pianist and piano teacher extraordinaire. She will also be singing with the choir at Carnegie Hall in the Alto section.
