Shortly before 18:45, North West Fire Control received a number of reports of a serious house fire on Monkswood Close in Warrington. On arrival, crews found the whole of a semi-detached brick-built property well alight.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were deployed to tackle the fire with hose reel jets. All persons have been accounted for.
An aerial ladder platform was requested due to fire spreading the roof.
Update at 19:30 - six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the fire from both the front and back of the property, while two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are checking neighbouring properties for fire spread. Crews are making progress in tackling the blaze.
Update at 20:00 - this incident has now been reduced to four fire engines and the aerial ladder platform as the fire has been extinguished. Crews are now checking for hotspots.
Update at 21:00 - firefighters are continuing to check for hot spots and fans are being used to remove smoke. The aerial ladder platform has been released from the incident. A fire investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire.
Update at 21:25 - the incident has now been reduced to two fire engines.
Update at 07:50 - one fire engine from Stockton Heath remains on scene. Firefighters have carried out hourly hotspot checks with the thermal imaging camera. A fire investigation will be carried out to determine the cause.
