One fire engine from Warrington and one fire engine from Penketh attended.
Details
Crews were called after smoke was seen coming from underneath a heavy goods vehicle. Firefighters used two hose reel jets to cool the vehicle's brakes. The vehicle was moved from the hard shoulder of the motorway to a nearby service station.
