UPDATE AT 09:45 | North West Fire Control received multiple reports of a collision involving two cars, one on its roof. Firefighters have been mobilised to the scene. No casualties are trapped and are being treated by crews while ambulances arrive. A full closure of the northbound carriageway is in place.
FUTHER UPDATE | Two lanes have been reopened to allow traffic to keep moving.
UPDATE 10:35 | We have now handed the scene over to police and highways. Traffic will remain heavy for some time.
