One fire engine from Chester and one from Ellesmere Port
Details
Firefighters were called to multiple reports of a large area of undergrowth alight at the side of the railway. For a short time the line had to be closed while they accessed the embankment and used three hose reel water jets to put out the fire. It is believed the fire may have started by a spark from a passing steam train. Crews were at the incident for around three hours.
