Details
Crews were called to a fire in the attic of a semi-detached bungalow with concerns it was starting to spread into the adjoining property.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took two hose reel jets to tackle the fire from inside the affected property, while two firefighters took a hose reel jet into the adjoining property to check for fire spread from the inside of their attic space.
Firefighters were also positioned outside with two hose reel jets to fight the fire from the exterior. Ladders were used to reach and remove roof tiles as the breathing apparatus teams were withdrawn from fighting the fire from the inside.
Crews then continued to fight the fire from the outside and removed all roof tiles from the initially affected property. Once the fire was out, crews remained on the scene through the night doing hourly hot spotting checks with the thermal imaging camera and dampening down where necessary.
