Firefighters attended a road traffic collision involving three vehicles in Hurleston.
One casualty required rapid extrication by firefighters and was treated on scene by air ambulance staff. A second casualty self-extricated after firefighters removed the vehicle door.
Three additional casualties received initial first aid from firefighters and paramedics on scene. All five casualties were handed over to the care of paramedics. One was airlifted to hospital, and all casualties were transported to hospital for further treatment.
Firefighters used environmental spill mats to contain a diesel spill and prevent it from entering nearby drains.
Police were also in attendance to close the road and manage traffic during the incident. The scene was handed over to police.
