Four fire engines from Widnes, Penketh, Lymm and Runcorn, and the aerial ladder platform from Lymm. Two fire engines from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service also attended.

Firefighters were called to a fire in a house in Widnes. Upon arrival, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus discovered a fire in a first-floor bedroom of the home. All persons were accounted for. Paramedics and firefighters provided initial first aid on-scene, and one casualty was taken to the hospital by paramedics. Police attended and closed the road while the incident was dealt with. Two hose reels were used to begin tackling the fire, which had breached the roof space and spread into the neighbouring properties' roof space. The incident was sectorised, and the aerial ladder platform was utilised for external firefighting. The fire is believed to have started accidently.
