Shortly after 18:10, firefighters were called to reports of someone in the River Weaver at Acton Bridge. When they arrived they rescued an adult from six-foot deep water, who had been holding onto the riverbank. They were taken safely along the towpath and passed to the care of ambulances crews. Firefighters left the scene around 19:30.
