Three fire engines from Northwich, Knutsford and Lymm

Crews were called to a fire involving a domestic garage adjoining a detached house and with smoke affecting a neighbouring property. Both houses were heavily smoke logged so firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered to check for any signs of fire spreading. Meanwhile, another team used a hose reel water jet and main jet to tackle the fire in the garage, which contained a fuel tank that had ruptured. Part of the garage roof was removed to enable firefighters to douse the tank with foam. Large fans were used to clear smoke from the houses. Crews were at the scene for almost five hours. Fire investigation officers believe the fire to have probably started in a liquid fuel heating boiler in the garage.
