One fire engine from Nantwich, two fire engines and the aerial ladder platform from Chester, one fire engine from Congleton, one fire engine and the rope rescue unit from Knutsford attended.
Details
Crews were called to rescue a person who had fallen into the River Weaver in Nantwich. The casualty was out of the water at the bottom of the embankment when crews arrived. Firefighters, including swift water rescue teams, used a 9 metre ladder, throwlines, a reach pole and life jackets to assist the casualty, who was in a difficult to access area due to trees and railings. The casualty was rescued and handed into the care of ambulance crews. A cordon was put in place and Waterlode was closed in both directions by police.
