Four fire engines from Winsford, Middlewich, Northwich, Sandbach and two fire engines Crewe, as well as the rapid response rescue unit from Middlewich. Relief crews have been attending the incident with additional fire engines from Macclesfield, Alsager, Knutsford, Malpas and Nantwich. The High Reach Extending Turret (HRET) Scorpion from Macclesfield and the Welfare Support Unit from Penketh also attended the incident.

ONGOING: Crews are currently in attendance at a large fire in a barn in Winsford. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are utilising two main jets to tackle the blaze. Local residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke from the incident. Further updates will be added when they are available. Update at 13:34 | Good progress is being made to extinguish the fire. A water supply has been established, and unaffected items were removed from the barn. The incident has been sectorised, and a cordon is being managed by police. All persons have been accounted for. Update at 14:27 | The fire is now under control, and straw is being removed from the barn. Crews are still working hard to ensure the building is fully extinguished and dampened down. This incident has been reduced to four fire engines. Update at 15:25 | The number of fire engines has been reduced to three, and further reductions will be reviewed later. A crew will remain on the scene overnight. Two sectors for firefighting and damping down are still in place. Update at 08:45 | Firefighters have been working through the night and remain on scene. At around 18:00, the incident was reduced to the High Reach Extending Turret (HRET) Scorpion from Macclesfield and one fire engine. The HRET was used to pierce the roof and apply water onto the fire from above. The HRET left the scene just before 22:00, with relief crews taking over to continue firefighting. The surrounding area, along with materials removed from the barn, continues to be dampened down using a hose reel jet, a main jet and stack drags.
