Four fire engines from Chester (x2), Ellesmere Port and Powey Lane
Details
Crews were called after smoke was seen coming from a property. Firefighters used a hose reel jet to apply water through the ground-floor window while another crew gained entry through the front door to check if anyone was inside.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property, and a dog was rescued without injury. The fire, which was contained to the living room, was extinguished using a hose reel jet, and a high-pressure fan was used to clear the smoke.
While firefighters continued damping down, other crews carried out checks for fire spread in the adjacent properties and found everything to be clear.
The occupier was contacted and returned to the property. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
