Firefighters were called to a report of a fire in a house in Poynton. On arrival they found a fire involving the hearth within the property. The fire was extinguished by crews using breathing apparatus and one hose reel. A large fan was then used to clear smoke before the premises was inspected with a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
