A car travelling on the M62 East slip road towards the M6 South has left the highway, down an embankment, and collided with trees. One casualty is trapped, but is believed to be conscious. North West Ambulance Service are also in attendance. Fire crews are working with ambulance colleagues to stabilise the vehicle and access the casualty.

UPDATE 13:30 A full closure of the carriageway from the M62 East towards M6 South is closed. Firefighters have set up lines on the embankment to safely reach the casualty and bring them up onto the road.
UPDATE 13:35 The casualty is now in the care of paramedics. A road closure will remain in place for the time being, so please check before you travel. Fire crews are now packing up and leaving the incident - we will have no further updates.
