Details
Crews are currently in attendance at a fire in a kitchen in Chester. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using two hose reel jets and a covering jet to tackle the fire. UPDATE 14:40 | Firefighters remain at the scene of a fire at a commercial premises in Chester. At this time, the fire is believed to have affected the kitchen on the third floor and the roof space. Earlier in the incident, crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to tackle the fire internally. All breathing apparatus teams have now been withdrawn, and firefighters are continuing to damp down and turn over in the roof void. The aerial ladder platform is being used to check temperatures from above and to assist with damping down. Neighbouring shops have been checked for signs of fire spread, and any smoke present has been naturally ventilated. Crews are expected to remain at the scene for some time. An inner cordon is in place for the safety of the public and our crews. UPDATE 16:30 | Firefighters remain at the scene, monitoring the building for hot spots and carrying out salvage operations. Crews in attendance will be reduced and rotated as needed. An update will be added on Tuesday morning.
