Firefighters are currently in attendance at a bungalow and outbuilding that are well alight in Cox Bank. The incident has been sectorised, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using several main jets and hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control. Residents in the vicinity are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to the amount of smoke being produced by the fire. All persons have been safely accounted for. Update at 17:45 - firefighters have made good progress tackling the fire, which also involved grass and a number of hedges. There is still smoke in the area so residents are advised to continue keeping doors and windows closed. There are a number of road closures in the place so please avoid the area if possible. Update at 19:00 - crews remain at the scene and are dampening down any hotspots. Update at 09:00 on Wednesday, 29 July - Crews have remained at the scene overnight, continuing to monitor and extinguish hotspots using thermal imaging cameras and hose reel jets. The incident has been steadily scaled back overnight, with utility companies attending to assess the property. Firefighters remain on scene, dampening down hotspots and continuing to monitor the affected building to ensure it is safe. Update at 13:30 - Crews were at this incident for approximately 19 hours and they have now ceased firefighting operations. This fire is believed to have started accidentally.
