We are aware of a road traffic collision on the eastbound carriageway of the M56 between junctions 7 and 6 involving a lorry, with reports that several other vehicles may also be involved. Emergency services are in attendance and we are awaiting the first formal update to confirm the number of vehicles involved. Further information will be provided when it has been confirmed by crews in attendance. We would ask the public to avoid the motorway at this time, as well as the area around junction 7. Live traffic updates show very heavy traffic - please check before you travel and look for alternative routes. UPDATE 10:40 | The incident commander has confirmed that five vehicles are involved in the collision, including one lorry, one flatbed truck and three cars. None of the occupants are trapped in their vehicles.
