Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s 2024 year 10 and Year 12-13 work experience programme application stage is now CLOSED.
The Service offers work experience places to students who live or attend schools and colleges in the Cheshire, Halton and Warrington areas. In 2024 we are accommodating two age groups, identified below.
The dates of the 2023 placement will be:
Year 12-13 students: Monday 12 February to Friday 16 February 2024
Year 10 students: Monday 1 July 2024 to Friday 5 July 2024
The programmes will be delivered to cohorts of students and will provide an experience of working within a modern fire and rescue service. Successful students will gain an insight into many key areas of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, which includes: our educational platforms, community and business engagement to prevent and protect, along with an insight into operational training and much more. The programmes will take place primarily at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, Sadler Road, Winsford, CW7 2FQ, and at, Safety Central, Cliff Lane, Lymm, Warrington, WA13 0TE. However, it may also involve visiting other sites across Cheshire.
Students would be responsible for their own travel to and from the locations.

Closing date for applications: 12 noon on 17 November 2023
Successful applicants will be notified: by Friday 24 November 2023
Work Experience Placement: Monday 12 February - Friday 16 February 2024
Year 10 Programme:
Closing date for applications: 12 noon 24 November 2023
Successful applicants will be notified: by Friday 15 December 2023
Interviews will take place: 15 and 18 January 2024
