Crews were called to a fire that began in a garden and spread to a nearby commercial building, which had flats on the first floor, in Shavington.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and a safety jet to tackle and extinguish the blaze.
All persons were accounted for, and one casualty was treated by paramedics on scene for smoke inhalation.
