Fire crews were called to attend a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the M62 eastbound carriageway. Two vehicles had left the motorway and were stuck down an embankment. The two casualties are believed to have been medically trapped, but not physically. Firefighters provided casualty care, and one person was able to get out of their vehicle. The other casualty required help from firefighters and paramedics, as well as the North West Ambulance Service's Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
