Fire crews were called to a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle, a van and a car.
Firefighters removed the van's door using hydraulic cutting tools to rescue the driver, who was then taken to hospital by ambulance.
The drivers of the heavy goods vehicle and the car received precautionary checks at the scene by North West Ambulance Service.
Incident closed at 13:18.
