Details
Crews were called to a fire in the loft space of a terraced property in Ellesmere Port, where the blaze had breached the loft space and was suspected to be spreading through the shared roof void. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus began tackling the fire, and neighbouring properties were evacuated.
As the incident developed, internal and external firefighting took place. Fire spread through the roof across several properties, prompting an initial request for the stinger, which was later stood down.
The fire in the loft space was extinguished, and smoke logging was found in neighbouring properties.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots, and neighbouring properties were inspected to ensure no further fire spread.
At 22:09, the Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP) was used to tackle the fire externally. The incident was scaled down to five pumps and the ALP, with a welfare unit later arriving on scene.
At approximately 23:34, firefighting operations had concluded, and the incident was reduced to one pump on a watching brief.
Throughout the night, crews have been conducting repeated temperature checks across affected properties. Readings have gradually reduced, with the ceilings in one property beginning to collapse. Cordons remain in place, and crews continue periodic monitoring.
All persons have been accounted for.
