One fire engine and the rapid response rescue unit from Middlewich

Emergency services are in attendance at a head-on collision involving two vehicles. One person is trapped in their car and is being cared for by ambulance crews. Firefighters are stabilising the vehicle and preparing to release the person trapped. Police have closed the road.
UPDATE 21:15 Fire crews have now left the incident with the police to arrange vehicle recovery. Crews assisted paramedics by making the vehicles safe and helping one casualty out of their vehicle - they have been taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
