Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel water jet to extinguish a car on fire on the hard shoulder. The vehicle was electric powered so the battery was isolated and a thermal imaging camera used to ensure the car was safe before it was recovered. The driver was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
