Crews were called to a fire in a basement in Mottram St Andrew, which was out on arrival. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus investigated the basement with a dry powder extinguisher on hand as a precaution, and used a high-pressure fan to ventilate the property.
One casualty was assessed by firefighters for signs of smoke inhalation.
