Crews were called to a small kitchen fire in a ground‑floor flat in Chester. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire before ventilating the property with a high‑pressure fan. One casualty received initial first aid from firefighters prior to being handed over to paramedics. The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
