Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished a car's engine bay, which was well alight, using a hose reel. A thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hotspots.
The hard shoulder and one lane of the motorway were closed while the incident was dealt with. This is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
