Details
Crews were called to reports of smoke coming from the roof of a disused building, with concerns that people may have been inside. Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus took in hose reel jets and carried out searches. The fire was believed to be within the roof space, so the drone was deployed to investigate. Firefighters cleared a blockage in the chimney using small tools and chimney rods, dampening down debris and monitoring temperatures in the chimney with a thermal imaging camera. The fire is believed to have started in an open fireplace, and has been considered accidental. After thorough searches, there was no one found in the building at the time of the fire.
