Firefighters attended a large fire involving furniture and fly-tipped waste measuring around 30 by 30 metres, located beneath railway arches.
Police were in attendance and controlled an outer cordon and closed the road for safety.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets to tackle the fire and ground monitors were used to ensure there was no heat spread underground.
