Firefighters were called to a report of a fire in a property on Hartington Street, Chester.
Crews found a fire in a first floor bedroom involving candles. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to put the fire out. A large fan was then used to help clear smoke out of the building.
All occupants within the property had managed to evacuate prior to the arrival of the fire and rescue service.
