UPDATE AT 18:50 | Firefighters are dealing with a fire covering approximately 4,800 square metres in a field at Harthill near Bickerton. Specialist firefighting equipment is being deployed to tackle the blaze and the area has been divided into sectors to manage the incident. Nearby residents are advised to close windows and doors if they can smell smoke in their properties.
UPDATE 19:40 | The scene has been divided into four sectors, each with water jets and firefighters tackling the fire. The area affected is believed to be around 150m x 300m. Advice remains in place for local residents to close windows and doors if they can smell smoke in their properties. Further updates later.
