Firefighters were called to reports of a strong smell of burning at a commercial premises in Chester. Two lithium batteries were found to have melted.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used gas monitoring equipment and isolated the electrics, allowing the batteries to vent. A high-pressure jet was prepared as a precaution, and thermal imaging cameras are being used to monitor temperatures.
Nearby properties have been advised to keep windows and doors closed while firefighters continue to monitor the situation.
