One fire engine from Widnes, one from Frodsham, one from Runcorn and one from Penketh

Firefighters have been called to a fire at the top of a hill. They are using a hose reel, a main water jet and fire beaters to help extinguish it.
Update 14:00: Good progress is being made and the area, which is approximately over a hectacre, has been split into sections to enable crews to work extinguishing the fire. A cordon has been put in place for safety and police are in attendance.
