Crews were called to reports of smoke in a commercial premises in Widnes. The building was fully evacuated, and all persons were accounted for.
A fire was discovered within the premises, which was out on arrival. Firefighters dampened down the affected area and removed damaged materials from the building. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots, and a high-pressure fan was then used to ventilate the premises.
Police were also in attendance, as this is believed to have been started deliberately.
