Firefighters attended a house fire where smoke was issuing from ground floor windows and the front door of the property. Crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the building with a hose reel jet and quickly located and extinguished the fire.
The occupant was safely accounted for and was taken to hospital by ambulance for precautionary checks for possible smoke inhalation. Firefighters used a high-pressure fan to clear smoke from the property and also used a ladder to inspect the roof space for any signs of fire spread.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and was most likely caused by embers from a fireplace igniting nearby items.
