The M53 was closed this morning, Monday 7 September, following a vehicle fire.
The vehicle was on the hard shoulder and was well alight when firefighters arrived. Two fire engines attended the incident and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames and dampen down the area.
Highways officers were also in attendance. Fire crews handed the incident over to them and left the scene shortly before 8.30am.
