Information about the total number of male pensioners (firefighters) in each of the age groups specified in each year (2000-2021) (i.e. those who we pay a pension to because of firefighter service) is   provided in the table in the attached document.

2.  The total number of pension scheme members (male firefighters) who died each year for 2000 to 2021 (i.e. as a total number -not divided by age categories).

The total number of pension scheme members (male firefighters) who died each year for 2000 to 2021 (i.e. as a total number -not divided by age categories) are also included on the attached document. Please note that our current pension provider took over in 2008. As a result they do not hold any data about deaths for the years prior to this. This also means that the membership numbers for years prior to 2008 may not be fully accurate. However, we have provided all data available to us in our response.

3.   Whether in your pension scheme you include: retained duty system firefighters (on-call) and fire control (operators)?

The pension scheme numbers include retained (on call) firefighters but do not contain any control firefighters.
