This role will be based at Safety Central, however, will require travel to different locations across the county to deliver Early Intervention programmes. A Service vehicle will be available.

The main purpose of this role is to manage and deliver an Early Intervention Programme for ‘at risk’ young people across the unitary areas of Cheshire East, Cheshire West and Chester, Halton and Warrington.

The post holder will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging educational sessions, events and activities that build resilience, promote positive behaviour and encourage lasting behaviour change among young people participating in the programme.

The role will also involve developing and maintaining effective relationships with partner organisations to establish robust referral pathways into the programme, as well as identifying and coordinating appropriate subject matter experts to support the delivery of sessions.

At times, the post holder may also be required to support or lead a range of other programmes and interventions delivered by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service. These may include Fire Setter interventions, The King’s Trust Team programme and associated residentials, Safety Central programmes, and other events delivered to children, young people and adults across Cheshire, as required.

Some programmes, sessions and events may take place during evenings or at weekends. The post holder will therefore be required to work flexibly outside of normal core hours when necessary to meet the needs of the service and the communities it supports.

Duties of this role will include:

Planning and delivering engaging Early Intervention programmes tailored to individual needs, aligned with CFRS priorities, the NFCC Early Intervention Framework and Local Area Agreement targets. Ensure young people have access to relevant, high-quality learning resources.

Coordinate referrals and recruitment to maximise participation from targeted young people and ensure programmes reach those who will benefit most.

Be a positive role model and trusted mentor, supporting young people to overcome barriers, challenge behaviours and life choices, improve personal safety and build the confidence, resilience and skills needed for future progression.

Ensure the welfare of all staff, volunteers, visitors, partners, and attendees of programmes by making sure the learning environment remains clean and safe by conducting daily, weekly health and safety checks of buildings and vehicles, and audio-visual equipment, reporting any concerns or defects immediately.

To complete and maintain all the relevant paperwork required in relation to the delivery of Early Intervention Provision as needed by the service, the partners, and in accordance with the funding requirements. In particular records of each individual’s performance and progress, to demonstrate the level of achievement to the awarding bodies
