Role Play Volunteer

My name is Deborah , known as Debs by my second family at Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and I volunteer wherever and whenever I’m needed.

Most of my time these days is spent in the training centre acting as a live casualty to simulate RTC’s (road traffic collisions), Entrapment (in homes and commercial building’s) or out and about on multi agency exercises.

I also volunteer at many of the Station Open Days, running activities and meeting and greeting members of the public, I’m just happy to be involved.

My role as a volunteer is my lifeline, I'm disabled and doing my role gives me real purpose and brings meaning to my life. I feel like a real part of the team.

The roles that we do are so important, and knowing we assist in the training of fire fighters, or help to keep Cheshire a safer place, is such a fantastic reward.
