- Cadets arrive in Ghana
All Cadets and staff are fit and well and we have now arrived in Ghana, Africa.
Our arrival flight into Accra was 45 minutes late due to the pilot taking a diversionary route around a large electrical storm over western Africa.
The coach was waiting for us and we received a warm welcome from Richard Galliford (Ghana Outlook) and Jovith Achana.
Tired after travelling all day, we arrived at our hotel in Prampram at 23:30pm. Everyone was settled into their rooms by midnight.
After an early breakfast the party set off into the centre of Acrra to visit DCFO William Mensah at the headquarters of Ghana's National Fire Service.
We were shown around the latest appliances and turntable ladder by some very proud Ghanaian Firefighters.
After a refreshing drink, Cadet Jodie Hind (Crewe) made a presentation to William Mensah for all his support for the team project.
The Cadets then went on to experience their first exposure to the bartering skills culture of the Ghana craft markets.
After a stop for lunch we eventually arrived in Ho and this evening we were invited to join the Achana family in a welcome meal at their home.
We all enjoyed a delightful meal under the stars on a warm African night. The warm welcome and hospitality made for a memorable evening.
Tomorrow we make our first visit to Abordahi and see the progress made on the school block.
