Two fire engines from Chester, one fire engine from Runcorn, Warrington and Powey Lane plus the aerial ladder platform from Chester.
Two fire engines from Deeside (North Wales Fire and Rescue Service) were also in attendance.
Details
Crews are currently at an incident at a waste sorting site in Chester. The incident has been organised into sections and is being assessed using the aerial ladder platform. Water supplies are being established and firefighters are tackling the fire externally.
Update at 21:47: this incident has now been reduced to two fire engines and the aerial ladder platform. The main seat of the fire has been extinguished and waste is being removed from the area to prevent fire spread.
Update at 21:59: the aerial ladder platform has been released from the incident and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway. A main jet is being used to continue to dampen down the area.
A final update will be provided in the morning.
Update at 08:20: Firefighters continued to dampen down the area fire using a hose reel jet and a main jet. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots. Crews left the incident just after midnight.
This is believed to have been caused accidentally.
