Crews were called to tackle a fire involving approximately 150 tonnes of compost.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reel jets to dampen the flames, as well as using onsite machinery to create fire breaks to prevent further spread.
A second, smaller compost fire was discovered nearby, involving around 50 tonnes.
At 21:30, firefighters remained at the incident, continuing to dampen down and monitor the area with thermal imaging cameras.
UPDATE 13/10 at 08:45 - Firefighters have remained in attendance through the night, turning over the compost and dampening down deep-seated pockets of heat.
UPDATE 13/10 at 12:00 - Firefighters continue to make steady progress, and relief crews have been brought in throughout the duration of this incident. Turning over and dampening down the compost will continue until crews are satisfied there is no further risk of reignition.
