Details
Crews were called to reports of two people in a dinghy struggling against the current on the River Dee in Chester.
Firefighters established downstream safety measures, preparing throw lines in the event that either casualty entered the water.
Swift-water rescue technicians in dry suits secured the dinghy and used lines to move it away from a potential tow-back area. A safety boat was launched to assist with extrication.
Both casualties were rescued from the water and handed into the care of paramedics on scene.
Police were also in attendance and closed the road while the incident was dealt with.
