Details
Firefighters have been tackling a fire in the loft space of a house after large amounts of smoke were seen coming from the building earlier this morning. On arrival, crews wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and found the source of the fire in the loft area. A hose reel jet was used to begin extinguishing the fire. All occupants had safely evacuated prior to our arrival. An aerial ladder platform and additional ladders were put in place to give crews safe access to the roof space, where they worked to remove roof tiles and expose hotspots. Good progress was made both internally and externally. At 09.12, the incident was reduced to two fire engines and crews continued with damping down and checking for remaining hotspots.
