Two fire engines from Lymm and Birchwood, plus a fire engine from Greater Manchester

Firefighters were called to reports of a car on fire on the hard shoulder near the Thelwall Viaduct. One lane of the motorway was closed for a short time while they made the vehicle safe. There were no injuries.
