Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus attended a semi-detached property where on arrival smoke was seen coming from the ground floor.
The occupant had used a fire extinguisher before crews arrived and was checked over by firefighters - no injuries were reported.
Crews used a hose reel jet to dampen down the affected area and a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for any remaining hotspots.
The fire is believed to have been caused by a cooker accidentally being turned on while an air fryer had been left on top.
