Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel and a small amount of foam to extinguish a car that was well alight on the northbound carriageway of the A34. A water shuttle was established to support firefighting operations.
Environmental protection equipment, including grid mats and an environmental pack, were used to contain water and foam runoff on the roadway.
Police attended to close the northbound carriageway and manage traffic.
