Firefighters attended a deep-seated fire affecting around 30 square metres of woodland near Beeston Castle.
Crews used an extended hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to locate hotspots and fully damp down the area.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been a discarded disposable barbecue.
