Firefighters were called to a fire involving shrubbery on Runcorn Hill.
Crews initially used a water backpack and beaters to tackle the fire, then a hose reel jet to fully extinguish it. The area was checked using a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no remaining hotspots.
The fire is believed to have been started deliberately, and police were requested to attend.
